Release focus

VoxGuard 4.8.19 packages the post-4.8.18 master-line changes for internal testing. Android uses a fresh Google Play version code after the previous code was already present on the Internal testing track, and iOS has the matching TestFlight build.

This is not a public app-store release. Wider rollout, open testing, external TestFlight distribution, and production release remain separate release-owner decisions.

User-visible changes

  • Group admins get an after-action Summary report for recent group activity.
  • Message read receipt sync is lighter and avoids a misleading error when messages are marked read silently.
  • Reliability and authorization hardening from the post-4.8.18 master line is included without exposing technical security details in customer-facing text.
Engineering

Technical changes

  • Security and authorization test coverage was expanded around group access and invitation behavior.
  • SQL governance and SECURITY DEFINER follow-ups were tightened.
  • Operational event evidentiary timestamps were hardened.
  • Internal voice-backend replacement planning was updated; this release does not switch the runtime voice backend.
  • The Android version code was bumped to 26070501 to allow a fresh Google Play Internal testing upload.

Limits

Known limits

  • The Android upload uses Google Play Internal testing only, and the iOS upload uses TestFlight internal upload only.
  • Tester-list and install evidence still needs Play Console or device-side closeout if this build is expanded beyond the restricted internal pilot flow.
